Description:

This is the second home we have renovated, and it has been a massive undertaking with extensive design and building work inside and out. Like many of our clients, we’ve taken a phased approach due to budget considerations.

So far, we have completed the ground floor, most of the first floor, redesigned the exterior up to the soffits, and landscaped the front driveway. Future building work includes extending part of the first floor to create an office and removing the roof to transform the existing loft into two en-suite bedrooms with cottage-style dormers which will offer stunning views over the church and countryside.

Situated in a small Kentish hamlet within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Greenbelt, this project came with its fair share of planning constraints. The original 1970s house stood out from its surroundings, and the design goal was clear: to create a home that felt more in keeping with the character of the area. The reimagined exterior features a thoughtful blend of materials—clay tiles, a mix of painted and reclaimed brickwork, and natural oak detailing—to help it sit harmoniously within the landscape.

Sustainability: we made the easy decision to move away from oil and installed an air-source heat pump. This gives us valuable, first-hand experience that we can share with clients considering similar energy-efficient solutions.

We’re incredibly proud of the transformation so far, and we hope you’ll agree it’s a beautiful example of thoughtful, considered design throughout.

We can’t wait to update the photos once the final stage has been completed.
