This was a unique single storey rear extension which required careful design, primarily because the side drops away to the rear which meant we could design something really special with the space. What would typically have been a standard height extension could become double height with stairs leading down into the space from the main house. The tall rear doors with roof lights make this room something rather extraordinary with a fantastic amount of natural light.

 

The once divided kitchen/lounge space can now be opened out with a feature island to become the hub of the house. A glass balustrade divides the space with stairs leading down from the kitchen into the new lounge. The result was stunning.
